The first place to look for treasure is in someone else’s trash.
Joshua is from Pittsburgh, PA, and grew up dancing at the ALDC. In high school, he became interested in stage crew and took that passion with him to college. Josh attended Point Park University where he earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatrical Lighting Design.
Upon graduating from PPU, Josh began working at an installation museum in Pittsburgh. He worked his way up in the ranks now holding the position of Exhibitions Coordinator at the Mattress Factory Contemporary Art Museum. Joshua has recently begun making a name for himself as a solo artist and has been described as an emerging artist working in lighting manipulation, atmosphere design, and sculpture. He uses site-specific immersive works to explore themes of manufactured nostalgia, involuntary introspection, and obsession with spectacle. Josh currently has a solo show at Gradient Projects in Thomas, WV, and is a Resident Fellow at Ply Space in Muncie, IN.
